Totally agree with Mike's comment below. John's list - and his parameters for it - are pretty idiosyncratic, more his personal mixtape than a survey of the genre (which, of course, is his prerogative since he wrote it :-)). But My favorite stuff is the lists and anecdotes from other musicians and scensters, which are not just a kick but paint a broader picture. I would love more interviews, oral history, etc in Vol.2
