the beckies! what a great great lp this is. river bayou has such a
great melody comparable to some of mike brown's work with the left
banke. too bad this lp has not made it to the digital age (or has it?)
i was lucky enough to be in a studio with mike brown as he was at the
piano and played songs of his including the left banke, stories and
the beckies, although mike kept going back to lady madonna after
almost every song for some reason. not that lady madonna is not a
great song, it was just odd that mike kept going back to that one in
between his own songs.
hopefully the beckies lp will make SSA II (laughing dogs too)
speaking of milk n' cookies, another great lp, and this one is on cd.
RPM in europe released it last year with bonus tracks that the
japanese edition did not contain.
