It's odd how certain 80s production techniques completely ruin the music for
me while others don't.
For years I always loved Joy Division's UNKNOWN PLEASURES, and I recently
listened again, and this time all I could hear was the snare drum...maybe
I'll listen a year from now and it won't annoy me.
It's hard to explain, but the sound on the Crenshaw album is so blatantly
wrong that it just sticks out for me above all else.
