I had a hard time ranking everything this year. No solid #1 like most
years, and I thought about just listing 2-25 and leaving #1 empty. Instead,
I picked my fave 25 and just ranked them in groups of 5. The order of 1-5
can change daily depending on my mood. I too am getting popped out as I get
older, and actually find myself liking more and more power in my pop. I
also notice that my tastes are getting farther away from most in this group.
A couple of the releases that appear to be headed for the year's top 10 I
found to be awful. As in "how could anyone record this and try to take
anyone's money for it" bad. I won't name names in order to avoid the
inevitable flame war, but I'll just chalk it up to my old age.

Not too many notes, sorry, not much free time these days. I'm sure you all
have googling skills if there are any you've never heard of...

Scott

2007 Top Albums

01-05 Treaty Of Paris - Sweet Dreams Sucker
If you had a gun to my head and told me to pick one as #1, this would
be it.
Reminds me a little of a heavier Ike, or Superbeing and Stereo 360
from previous years.
01-05 Farewell - Isn't This Supposed To Be Fun
Local band for me who got a nice record deal, changed their sound from
crap
To heavy power pop, and seem to be really nice guys who have patience
to put
Up with my teenage daughter and her friends at their shows. And they
took it
All in stride when their performance at Warped on the solar powered
stage went
Dead after a few minutes on a cloudy day.
01-05 Everybody Else - Everybody Else
They've been mentioned on list a lot, you should know them. Classic
power pop.
01-05 Melee - Devils And Angels
Very surprising that this one didn't get more love from the list.
01-05 The Rocket Summer - Do You Feel
This kid can't do anything wrong, feel good music from start to
finish.
