1.	Mike Viola – Lurch. Thanks to the people on the list that mentioned
this one. This is the best thing I've heard in about 2-3 years. I
can't believe that more people on the list aren't talking about it. I
have always been a huge fan, but I decided to dive into his website.
Wow- I didn't know about his wife dying from cancer back in 1996.
That puts everything in a new perspective, and makes everything he
released all the more impressive, especially since he deals with such
pain in a power pop format. (btw, he is the one artist that surprised
me that wasn't in Shake Some Action)
Lurch has a slightly positive spin on it, and songs like "So Much
Better" and "Never Knew Love Like This Before" make me hope that Mr.
Viola is doing well.
2.	Drowners – Cease To Be. What happened to all of the Swedish power
pop acts?
3.	Jonas Brothers – s/t (better than you think it would be)
4.	Switches – Heart tuned to D.E.A.D
5.	Ash – Twilight Of The Innocents A delightful pop album
6.	Sahara Hotnights – What If Leaving Is A Loving Thing (seems it is
only available in Sweden, very similar to the Sounds)
      7. Pistol Opera – s/t hard rawk/power pop. Not enough of that
released this year
      8. Farrah – Cut Out And Keep. I didn't like this as much as
"me too"
      9. Fountains Of Wayne – Traffic And Weather. Much like others
have said, okay, but not as great as their other released. I think
they peaked with Utopia Parkway
10.	Ice Cream Hands-The Good China (Dust Devil) Why does this have
such poor distribution?
11.	Johnny Monaco-Overrated (The Wrong Crowd) Has nothing to do with
Enuff Znuff great stuff
12.	Feedbacks-Sunday Morning Record (Rock Indiana)
      13. Steve Bertrand - Pain Is A Megaphone (while not as good as
the Tories, better than his work as Avion)
      14. Rooney - Calling The World. Who can complain over a power
pop band on a major label. I didn't like it as much as the debut
      15. Orson – Culture Vultures. Far more involved with "dance
music" compared with their debut
      16. Rufus Wainwright – Release The Stars. Want Two was so bad
that it almost turned me off him forever, but I gave it a chance, and
I'm glad I did.
      17. Automat – Automat Isn't it nice to see the "Not Lame" logo
on Cds again?
      18. Everybody Else - Everybody Else. Very much in the Phantom
Planet/Rooney camp
      19. The Click Five - Modern Minds And Pastimes. Glossy,
overproduced, just the way I like it
      20. Favorita – s/t (very Suede-ish)

Disappointed by:

Nines Gran Junkle's Field half the tunes are very good, half the tunes
are terrible. "Dance With Me" is a step in the wrong direction.
Jason Falkner I'm Ok, You're OK. For someone so incredibly talented,
you would think he would be able to come up with at least a few
melodies on this one.
