I am not in anyway related to this band Daisy nor their record company. Anyway I thought that You should check this Finnish band.
They say: we are influenced by "The Beatles, Rolling Stones, Smashing Pumpkins, ELO, Simon & Garfunkel, Duran Duran, Supergrass, Styx, Alphaville, Asia and more..."
Ok, I second that but I would add that they sound sometimes also a lot like: The Motors, Jason Falkner('s TV Eyes), The Attractions, some Lolas, some Shazam, even some Bay City Rollers, T.Rex, Chinn-Chapman ... and so on.

I always thought that the best retro 80s chart hit song pastiche was Jason Falkner's TV Eyes and 'She's a Study", but now I am not so sure anymore. Daisy comes pretty close with many of their songs. Included selected parts of the 80s chart pop plastic synth catchiness with all the best ingredients of classic 60s and 70s guitar pop. Bubblegum melodies that don't lose their flavours. Pure power of pop.
Just listening their song Invincible (myspace) for the fourth (change that to sixth (to eight)) time in a row. Great. After the short guitar and synth breaks at 3:44+ and what first sounds like fade out, don't skip. At the 4:04 comes a new beautiful melody ala ELO/Jeff Lynne. Absolutely brilliant stuff.
I don't know about their earlier stuff released a couple of years ago, but a new CD is coming out in Feb 2008. The songs on myspace site are from it.

This music is ridiculously catchy. I've been on their myspace site for couple of hours listening those five songs. They just don't let you go.
