The "Utopia" CD was an underappreciated pop masterpiece. If it has been released by some hot young pop band of the moment, it would have sold millions.

I distinctly remember seeing Shooting Star open for Utopia in August
1982 at Alpine Valley. This was one month prior to the release of
Utopia's self-titled album which happens to be (in all things
Audities continuity) number 32 in Borack's "Shake Some Action" top
200 power pop albums list. And yeah, Shooting Star is more AOR than
pop, but a decent listen.
Spys was mentioned earlier - as I recall, their lineup included two
former members of Foreigner, so very much an AOR thing there. But
catchy tunes as memory serves.
