First of all, the relentless positivity of this list
is one of the reasons I don't read it as much as I
used to. The relentless positivity of this list lead
me towards a bunch of crap albums in the early days of
the list. Cheers to Bob & Gabe & Bob for stirring
things up here once in awhile...even though I don't
usually agree with them and they often get my goat to
the point that I post a counter-point to their posts.

Secondly, my BSC-styled rankings were far from
perfect, but I'm sticking by them. Here's what my list
would've looked like using my "pull-em-out-of-my-ass"
method that I've used in the past.

1. New Pornographers
2. Nick Lowe
3. Wilco
4. Grand Champeen
5. Spoon
6. Weakerthans
7. White Stripes
8. Okkervil River
9. Manic Street Preachers
10. Li'l Cap'n Travis

11-20 would've been padded with albums that I
liked...or liked their previous album enough to rank
them...or really like the band - And would also rotate
positions depending on my mood when I made the list.
Hell 5-10 could rotate positions depending on my mood.
I guess even my BSC standings could change depending
on my mood when I listened to the album. I listened to
these at work, so it's very likely some were affected
by theday I was having.

I love the year-end lists here. The final consensus
weeds out the crap and I generally find some real
gems.

The BCS Sucks! How could New Pornographers have
jumped to #1 while
sitting idle? How could Grand Champeen move from #7
to #2 after defeating
Spoon, leapfrogging Nick Lowe who defeated the
previous #1 Okkervil
 River?

I'm going to make my Top 20 from a playoff system next
year.

Grand Champeen - Dial T for
This 4.500My favorite Austin band. They have been
known to coverthe

especiallyconsidering the wait -
But apparently ranks highsong-for-song.4 Nick Lowe -
