Ooops sorry Stewart. I seem to have missed the back and forths since my initial comment. Directly after I sent the post I left to see Walk Hard at the theater (Entertaining movie ,btw,I think it has been mentioned here before but Mike Viola and Dan Bern are all over the soundtrack of original songs. It comes off as Walk the line meets Grace of My Heart as thought up by the Freaks and Geeks/Knocked Up/Superbad crew. Not exactly family fare fare but entertaining nevertheless.).
While I am not saying that everyone on this list ro any other should walk in lock-step with Rickenbackers in hand,I am pointing out that some people here fancy themselves as the official list curmudgeons and occasionally a J.R.Taylor or Eric Broome drops in to challenge them ala the Last Gunfighter to the title and it gets old fast. 
I just start deleting certain posts w/o even reading them as many others have said they do.
I have been offended in the past by someone stating that the IPO lineup they attended was crap and proceed to pick everything apart. Now what did that accomplish?
David Bash tirelessly organizes and plans these events ,the bands are not usually paid but are doing the set to sell cds,get exposure,support other like minded bands,etc
We are not all stepford idiots here but was it really necessary to under the guise of an apology start trashing a cd put out by Not Lame  by a band which has members who have subscribed to this newsgroup?.
I realize that it is not flowers and puppydogs here but the constant negative crap which some might just chalk up to Scottish melancholy is simply not necessary.
There is something to be said for self editing..
