Okay, things are perking right along on the first-ever Audities Top
Pop 200 poll, so I thought I'd take a second to codify everything. I
have tabulated eight responses so far, and there's definitely some
early favorites emerging along with a couple of surprises. As of right
now, the following artists are in the Top 10, though I won't say which
albums or what the ranking is:
Beach Boys
Beatles
Big Star
Cheap Trick
Crowded House
Jellyfish
Nick Lowe
Orange Humble Band
XTC
Zombies
So here are the rules:
1. Send in a ranked list of your personal Top 20 Pop Albums of all
times. It's up to you to decide how narrow or how broad that
definition is.
2. Short version of the tabulation: #1 entries get 20 points, #20
entries get 1 point. For unranked lists, each entry gets 10.5 points.
There are subtleties, they're not worth going into at the moment.
3. Deadline is February 15, 2008. The final list of 200 will appear
shortly thereafter.
