Well, maybe this mini-storm of controversy will help sell the rest of the
print run on "Shake Some Action," but I'm still bothered by this thread. I,
too, found the Mazzarella piece a bit of a head-scratcher, but let's
recognize that John included many other voices in the book, including
several of our own Auditeers. As far as I'm concerned, given the quality of
the Rooks' music, Mazzarella can be forgiven for a loopy but obviously
heartfelt essay. And so what if Borack gives props to records he played on
(though not, as he pointed out, the Top 200 list)? The man's a participant
as well as an observer of the pop scene. That's a good thing.

I repeat my earlier assertions about "SSA:"
1) If you're interested enough in power pop to be on this list, this book is
an absolute must.
2) You could throw the text away without reading it and only keep
the rarities CD included with every copy, and you'd still be getting your
money's worth.
