I'm going to suggest checking out my buddies, The
Hipwaders. The play pop influenced by artists like
Elvis Costello and XTC etc (that will not drive Mom
and Dad crazy), with great kid friendly lyrics.

A good place to hear a couple of samples is their
MySpace page :

http://www.myspace.com/thehipwaders

There are also samples of all the songs on Amazon.

XMRadio plays them on a regular basis. The title track
of their latest album ("Educated Kid") was recently #1
on the XM Kids station. I think it actually bumped a
'High School Musical 2' track off the top spot.

Proof that the guys can play their stuff live can be
found here (with a nice little Turtlesque intro):

It's music for kids that is not dumbed down.

Sorry if that sounds like a commercial. The
Hipwaders's leader, Tito Uquillas, is an old friend
and former bandmate of mine...but I wouldn't be
posting about them if I didn't think they were great.
