It was on "Peek-a-Boo," the 2CD comp Rhino did around 1989 or so.
Also, nrbq.com offers their full-length "Christmas Wish" CD, which, without
even having heard it, I would be prone to recommend. Will probably pick up
myself once out from under this year's Xmas stuff.

<<<Speaking of classics, NRBQ's "Christmas Wish" is certainly one.
Every year I look forward to hearing this tune. And the first time I do
play it I melt. So wonderful. Each time Joey sings "If people all over
the world could just hear it too" it gets to me.>>>
Where do I find this NRBQ track? Being a big fan of both xmas music and
NRBQ, this is one I need to hear!
RE: B Wilson Kennedy tribute, I agree with the Hootie consensus, bad
choice. Fair at best. I actually liked Lyle Lovett's rendition of God
Only Knows, though - his voice put the "ache" in "achingly beautiful"...
but fercripesake, couldn't they let him sing both verses 1 and 2 instead
of going right into the interlude after verse 1??? What, they saved 50
seconds??? Stuff like that bugs the crap outta me! The other annoyance
was the background singers - they were on tune, but the tone was thin
and bordering on shrill when it should have been lush and soft.
