I have to agree with Bob.

Don't get me wrong. I love Quebec and their culture and I'd love to be able
to speak French and many other languages but the reality is that many of us
in Canada don't speak another language and making French an official
language itself is not enough to help it be part of our culture. I wish it
were enough. I think there are many other things that make us unique to the
American culture but people are the same everywhere, I think.

Itravel through five western Candian cities with our music teaching business
and the only large pocket of French speaking people I have encountered is in
Winnipeg's St Boniface area where they also speak English. In Calgary,
Edmonton, Vancouver and Winnipeg, there are many more Asian, East Indian,
and Russian speaking families than there are French speaking families.
