One caution - I have been playing modular synthesizers since the late 60s
and composing electronic music forever, so these are not all "pop"
music.  Steve Lawson is a UK bassist who plays solo music using looping
devices (among other things).  His music is very organic and not at all
"robot-like".  You can hear it/read about him at
http://www.steve-lawson.co.uk/home.shtml He will also be presenting a
home concert and a two day seminar on bass technique here in the CA Bay
Area in mid-January and will also be at NAMM.

Imogen heap took awhile to grow on me, it is very "synthetic" with heavy
processing on the vocals and sounds.  I like the songwriting and was very
impressed by a solo performance she did on late night TV recently.  Also
check out Zoe Keating (cellist, looper) who sometimes accompanies Imogen
and is a great talent in her own right.  these people are in the process
of creating a new idiom and it is exciting to watch the development (Amy
X here in the bay area is somewhat similar and also talented).

Ulrich Schnauss is pure electronic music, some groove, some ambient.  I
think he si masterful at his instrument.

Wayne Horvitz has been playing the NYC avant-jazz scene for a long time
and is often part of the John Zorn, Elliot Sharp type things going on
there.  I prefer his solo keyboard work.  Very jazzy more than
electronic, reminds me of Penguin Café Orchestra with a more modern
sensibility/harder edge. Check out either This New generation (early) or
Monologue (more recent). http://www.waynehorvitz.com/

Check out Sharon Jones on Youtube from a TV appearance in France at:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BOJR11cSvHY - great energy.

I hope you find something of interest in at least one of these....
