Of course after I hit send I remembered another great lost 60's gem I should have included:

Mark Eric - A Midsummers Daydream
Just a one-off album by an actor, right?... pretty much every description of it would make me lose interest too... except that this is a >great< album... He was influenced by Beach Boys and Bacharach
also done with the wrecking crew... it's a tremendously uplifting beauty well worth looking into.
