I didn't mention him, cause I was at work all day, and can't sit around
and chit chat while at my desk...

I saw the Airplane a few times, and Jack was always the "center" of the
band. He kept time with his eyebrows!

Been thinking all day about any others that haven't been mentioned...
Jack Bruce would be at the top of my list.

On the lesser known side:

Ken Whaley from Help Yourself, Man, Green Ray, Tyla Gang etc. He's a big
fan of Cassidy, and can do that long melodic run type of playing. I've
had him play on some of our stuff too. Amazing, and a nice chap.

Jim McPherson: a San Jose boy I grew up listening to with Stained Glass.
He later worked with Cipollina in Copperhead and Raven. Actually he was
a great piano player too. Our own local Jack Bruce.

Mike Watt is one of the more impressive players I've seen in the last 20
years.. only with fIrehose.

These days there are too many guys who play the right notes and in time,
but don't create anything I care about... I just had a pal of mine (who
played with the Posies amongst others) do some recording for me. He
didn't make any mistakes, but it wasn't what our regular bass player
would have done.

I was lucky to get to see a lot of the names mentioned play live:
Entwhistle, Bruce, Cassidy, Phil Lesh, Dee Murry (with Elt and Procol
Harum), McCartney, Wyman,
