I have tried several different iPod adapters and found them to be disappointing, either with the cabling hassles or audio problems with the FM style connections.

Then, I had the good fortune to have my stock car stereo bite the dust, and replaced it with a modestly priced Alpine unit with built-in iPod support. The installers run a tidy little cable to the glove box where my iPod resides almost permanently.

It's fantastic -- I am able to control the iPod from the car stereo controls and it supports playlists and displays artists name and song title. The only real problem is that I wish the iPod had better song-to-song gain and EQ matching technology.

Feel free to take this discussion off-list, but can anyone recommend the best way to listen to your iPod through your car speakers? I've tried the iTrip, but the signal through the radio tends to be sketchy at best.

Best,

WILL
