While it's totally understandable that a voice can last forever, Springsteen's voice isn't nearly as bad as Paul Simon's judging from last summer's PBS special on his Library of Congress songwriter's award.  Sad...

I admire him for trying things as an artist even after all of these years. 
In 5 years we've had The Rising (a potent comment on post 9/11 world) with 
the E Streeters, a dark introspective solo work - Devils and Dust, the 
joyous Seeger Sessions, and now what i would call his best album since .. 
since i don't know when.. i would almost say Born In The USA but maybe even 
The River. Certainly 'Magic' is my album of the year so far. And tours on 
the back of all of these. I feel like creatively he's having a great time...

And i was feeling like his voice was diminishing, and had been since about 
92. But i think he sounds FANTASTIC on this new record. Vital, keen, in tune 
and not at all like the older man he is. It's almost like he picked up again 
after Born in the USA vocally. And there's lots of great pop songs on this 
record, for those still paying attention to that sort of thing..
