they were an awesome band who created an amazing body of work over 25 years.
I always thought they were at their best when just letting themselves be who
they were rather than when they had their eye on the charts..
Peter Garrett is the lead singer and is now a member of our Federal labour
Party. We're just heading towards an election that would see him be part of
the Federal Government if they won. I've gotten to know Midnight Oil's
management a little (i've done the odd project for them) and he's distancing
himself from his MO legacy, so don't hold your breath for a US tour.. i
doubt it will ever happen. They performed at a tsunami tribute concert a few
years ago (available on DVd) and they were incredible..
