I did not ship my turntables down to Argentina, although I did ship my records down. I am looking into one these USB set ups as well. At first, I thought that they were all just "toys" and it would not be satisfying using one. However, a little research showed me that they are putting out some relatively serious equipment.
I went to the Needle Doctor web site (they are physically located right by the Univ of Minnesota but have a world class web site and shipping service) and I noticed quite a few nice set ups. While the Numark set up is not listed there as is a Stanton turntable that may be worth checking out.
I own two of Pro ject regular turnrables and I was (am) very pleased. One of the turntables was hooked up to my computer using the pro ject pre amps. It worked well but a USB set up might be cleaner (meaning not as many wires hanging around).
Anyway, I am going to buy one but I may do a little more comparion shopping.
