Surprised to see no comments yet on the new Ray Davies album (Working
Man's Cafe) which was attached to last weekend's Sunday Times as a
cover-mount. I'm not familiar with a huge amount of latter-day Kinks
material, but this album seems full of good tunes and a pretty solid
effort by the old Konk. Front cover sees Ray leaning against a shop
window, with a grin so lop-sided that his reflection seems to have
suffered a stroke (hang on - was that not what happened to Dave D a
while back?).
Anyway, a very enjoyable listen - keep an eye out for it Stateside.
