Am I correct in my belief that my two favorite British power pop albums, The Expressos' PROMISES AND TIES and THE KEYS ALBUM (both from the early new wave era), have never been released on CD? I am not normally the type to buy a CD of something I already have on vinyl, but thers are records I love so much (and have played so much over the years that they will wear out someday) that I really feel the need to have them in both formats. The Expressos album is, in my opinion, the best female vocal guitar pop album ever...just a perfect record with fantastic song after fantastic song. It has been a favorite since the day I first heard it in the mid-80s and was one of those every day listens when I was in college. I just listened again tonight for the first time in several years and it has aged very well---it's every bit as good as I remember it. And that Keys album also just gets better with time. It's like a rockabilly band who decided to play pop instead and infused it with al lof the energy they had, and not only wrote an ace set of songs but had the most perfect singing of any band of the style at the time... Both of these albums are very hard to find now--I almost never see them for sale. They never show up at all on GEMM and very rarely on ebay.

Anyway...anyone know if CD re-releases have even been considered? Any of the label owners out there ever looked into it? I'm guessing that because they were on major labels they aren't the kind of albums that would be easy for indie labels to rerelease?

And, a question to anyone else who owns the Expressos album: does anyone know if it originally came with an insert? I always assumed my copy was missing one, since the album cover has basically no info about who's in the band, or anything else.
