Arthur Alexander had the opportunity to participate in one of those
songwriter song-swaps that Marshall Crenshaw. Joe Ely, and many others
participated in. They were usually conducted onstage in venues like the
Bottom Line in NYC.
After his death, there was a wonderful tribute album called ADIOS AMIGO. A
great lineup of artists doin' his stuff: Crenshaw, Graham Parker, Roger
McGuinn, Chuck Jackson, and many more...
My dream is to wake up one morning and discover to my delight that the Bear
Family label has released a huge box set of every track Arthur ever laid
down, covering his years with Dot, Warner Bros., Elektra, and any other
labels he worked for.
Thanks for getting this discussion on Arthur Alexander going. His records
were magnificent and I miss him.
Steve
