Same here. Someone from 6Music was interviewed on TV the other day, and
said that feedback from their listeners (largely consisting of reasonably
mature, medium to heavy grade music fanatics) suggested that people are
using the download as a taster for the album. Some are then going on to buy
the discbox, and others will wait for an official CD release next year. As
a result, the success of this exercise can only be fully assessed when sales
of the almost inevitable CD are factored in.
Personally, I think it's a very good album, but not £40 good. So I'll buy
the CD when it arrives, I expect.
