I also have to go with Blue Rodeo as my fave Canadian band. They're also one of the tightest live bands you'll ever see. I saw them about 10 years ago in Louisville, KY with Sarah Harmer's old band Weeping Tile opening. Sadly, only 100 or so people came to see Blue Rodeo last time they were in San Francisco. Incidentally, my favorite recent song titled 'C'mon' is by non-Canadians the Frank & Walters. The Weakerthans and The Tragically Hip are also great live bands from up north.
