It is. Some of MacDonald's opinions are, frankly, bizarre (Across The
Universe is dreadful while Yellow Submarine is great? I think not...)
but he was one of the tiny number of rock journalists who could write
about *music*, rather than just the lyrics... that book was invaluable
to me when I started writing songs for the way it took the Beatles'
ones apart to see what made them tick...
