Just wondering if those who loathe Ms. Winehouse heard her first album, or just Back to Black, or if they heard Back to Black after she became a hit in the US. I was pretty knocked out when I heard Frank four years ago, and didn't really know a thing about her as she was an utter no-name in the States. She's done some pretty sophisticated stuff for a pretty young singer, and whether or not you give her any credit for the musical stylings of the new album - and the use of the great Dap Kings - you've got to at least give her some credit for having the taste and savvy to hook up with Mark Ronson.
I thnk she's the real deal, and if she doesn't kill herself, should have a long and interesting career.

Very easy. You hear a great vocalist, I hear someone trying
too hard to sound like one and not succeeding.
I could less if her whole body was one giant tat or how cool she is.
For me it is all how it sounds to me, and amy doesn't sound like
anything I care to waste my time with. That's all.
