I got married nearly two years ago, and while in many ways my wife's
tastes and mine are incompatible, the overlap (powerpop stuff and
jazz) was one of the things that brought us together - she's from the
US while I'm British, and before we ever met I'd sent her a mix MP3 CD
which was one of the reasons she fell in love with me (introducing her
to bands like Wondermints, The Negro Problem and so on). I got Stew to
write a song for her for our wedding, which was one of the very few
good things about that day (her brother died a month before we
married, so it wasn't exactly the most celebratory wedding ever). She
actually plays sax and keyboards in my band now...
