If you mean HIPPIEFEST, I was initially bummed that my change in travel
plans caused me to miss a Phoenix show and the one in Upstate NY (Vernon
Downs). I'd crawl through glass to see Mitch Ryder, and the bill also
featured the Turtles, Zombies, Mountain and several others. I also had to
miss Zappa Plays Zappa at the same Phoenix Theatre but I now have a ticket
to see them in Buffalo in November in a sweet 1200 seater.

I heard from five people who went (separately)...to a person they said it
was brutal. Only the Zombies came away unscathed because they played with
their full touring band. Apparently the house band that backed the vocalists
from the other groups were like third rate Holiday Inn lounge musicians.
Some Mitch fans I know thought it was the worst setting he'd ever been in
and wondered aloud why he would even bother. I guess I'm glad I missed it! I
don't want to remember any of these bands that way.
