One of the pure joys of the internet (including Audities) is "discovering" new artists. Rarely do you discover an artist that you instantly connect with, but when it happens it's almost magical.

That's exactly the situation for me with Matt Nathanson.

In the past 6 months I've gone through his entire back catalogue (over 15 years) and wondered -- "why haven't I heard of this guy before"?

His latest release -- "Some Mad Hope" (Vanguard) -- out for just 2 weeks now is FAN EFFING TASTIC! Having gone thorugh his early indie releases to his major label debut in 2003 ("Beneath These Fireworks") you can really see the evolution of the artist culiminating in his best release yet.

I'm excited to be seeing him live for the first time in Toronto in early October and again the next month in San Francisco when I co-incidentally happen to be on vacation.

(with apologies to Bruce) EXTREMELY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!

Surf over and give him a listen....
