An op-ed piece in today's LA Times ("Our (not so) private Idahos,"
about the senator with the George Michael dating habits) got me to
wonderin':
Did the phrase "private Idaho" originate with the B-52's song? It's
probably more well-known from the title of the Gus Van Sant movie
(also featuring furtive gay sex, coincidentally), but did it exist
prior to 1980's WILD PLANET album?
Just curious.
And yes, it is a slow day at work. How'd you know?
