Following the passing of Doug Riley ("Dr. Music") on Monday night of an
apparent heart-attack at the age of 62, Klaatu -- who worked closely with
Mr. Riley on their early singles and first two studio albums -- has issued
an official statement of memoriam:
"Canada has lost one of her foremost musical pioneers with the recent
passing of Doug Riley. Professionally, Doug will be remembered as an
accomplished musician, composer, arranger and record producer. On a personal
basis, we will remember Doug as a mentor and a fine gentleman. Many will
miss him. Rest in peace, Doc."
