Till There Was You - The Beatles (from The Music Man)
Gutter Cat vs. The Jets - Alice Cooper (adapted from West Side Story)
Hair - The Cowsills
Aquarius/Let The Sun Shine In - 5th Dimension (also Hair)
Somewhere That's Green - Ellen Greene (okay, not a cover but from the original cast recording of Little Shop of Horrors. Ellen is a brilliant singer and this is a beautiful song. See a great live performance at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tIZBSto6bGc and from the film - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TJtlla7OsCk&mode=related&search= - this was wonderfully re-created shot-for-shot on a Family Guy episode as the dream of an octagenarian child molester - see http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CFQRNFaXTKY&mode=related&search= )
All of the soundtrack to Pump Boys & Dinettes - a great alt country/pop tour de force. If only for the line "we'll cavort with the porpoises" from the song "No Holds Barred". I saw this off-off-off-Broadway in a basement when the cast was still developing the storyline. The Dinettes baked pies on-stage during Act I and served them to us during intermission while The Pump Boys raffled off evergreen-scented car scent fresheners. One of my favorite dates with my (later) wife over the past 30 years, we still talk about it.
Tomorrow Belongs To Me - Sensational Alex Harvey Band (from Cabaret)
Sit Down You're Rocking the Boat - Harper's Bizarre from Guys & Dolls
Far from Skid Row,
I dream we'll go,
Somewhere that's green....
