I agree. Pretty much every interview I've read with him for decades now I  get the distinct impression that he has lived too long in an ivory tower surrounded by sycophants who agree with everything he says until he actually thinks he can solve complex issues with easy pat answers. 

He doesn't like religion? Get rid of religion and the world would be a better place, right? 
Now substitue the word "Jew" and see how that sounds. Last time I checked somebody thought the world would be a better place without Jews. Turns out it's a bad idea. Now substitute the word religion for "Gay"....so how does this sound oh supremely enlightened one?
