Yes, and if somebody had tossed this implication your way you'd be a
little annoyed.
It's about a young songwriter (and maybe she isn't as young as I think
she is - don't know her exact age) out of nowhere not writing one or
three or even five great tunes, but literally a baker's dozen without a
dud in the crowd. The tunesmithing here is better than for a lot of my
favorite established songwriting pros.
I'm a big believer in genius. I'm also a big believer in the fact that
we have a music industry that tells us Avril Lavigne is a punk and a
songwriter.
