Yeah, I dug LIR, too, though it was sometimes tough to get a good signal in Jersey.
   
  PIX was 101.9, Dan Neer, Dennis Quinn and Jim Kerr were the big DJs I remember, and of course, Meg Griffin, who I dug way more than Alison Steele.  Was really only about 18 months pushing the envelope on the airwaves, but hugely influential to me.

What was the frequency for WPIX-FM? I don't recall it. WLIR-FM (later
WDRE-FM) was the biggest punk / new wave station on Long Island (well,
more new wave), and I didn't know that any stations in NYC were doing
something similar.
