Now that I think of it, there was probably another PIX format or two between
"Elvis to Elvis" and "nothing but love songs." But love songs is the one
that I remember. Thanks to Alan's reminder about the "arrows" commercials, I now
cannot get those friggin' TV spots out of my head.
I've talked to a lot of people over the years who joined their college
stations following the demise of "Elvis to Elvis." Our station had a whole class
of such people. PIX was a big deal, regardless of what the ratings said.
