>THANKS! These are so cool and NICE of Ya to share!

Hear, Hear!!!!!...no, really.
Although I've only heard 2 songs herer that ended up on the 1st record
they are immediately Sparks songs.
How come they didn't use these songs for the 1st record? Anyone know?

Also, THANK YOU again for the Moscow show,Greg.
Wow!...that's all I got say.

Like I have with Sparks, I will collect a bands entire discography once I'm hooked.
I just got into Be Bop Deluxe and have 3 of the 4 or 5 they put out.
I discovered Poco a few years ago and have all their stuff.
The Strawbs and Ian Mathews are other examples not so much of my taste but
of this completist streak I've been on.
Apart from The Beatles, Cheap Trick, Big Star, and the
like, I'm betting there are other completists on this list.

Is it necessary to buy music you don't really like because it's performed by
a specific band, or artist you've just discovered?
No.
It is, however, very exciting to break the plastic wrap and sink into something you've
not heard by someone you've just come to admire...even if it's not as
a.rocking
b.mellow
c.melodic
d.clever
e.moving
f.danceable(like I dance...smirk)as the previous, damn, 17 albums or so(they've got 22!)

But as I've mentioned in past posts there are a number of Sparks records that are
dance oriented- even Electronica/Rave-ish. ie: "Balls" and "#1 Song in Heaven" which
in the past I would've thrown out a window...on the highway. But there is
something inherently Sparks-like imbedded in what is, for me, a droning, boring musical genre
which allows me to bypass that reference point in my mind and REALLY get into both these records.

Point is: if I hadn't gone ahead and gotten all of their stuff I wouldn't have been exposed to
genres I don't listen to normally. I don't seek the dance/rave stuff out, but because I listened to
these particular records; driven by my admiration for all their previous records, I can whip
out some dance music for a mix disc and not feel like a musical hypocrite...because I
actually LIKE the aforementioned discs.
I feel like taking chances with unknown music now more than ever.
Thanks Sparks!
