Perhaps it's just me, but I have never considered that fine release by
Wings to be a Paul McCartney "solo album." I think that Paul's
generally solid work as a part of that group really distinguished his
post-Beatles career from that of his ex-band mates. Paul had Denny
Laine and others as collaborators, which resulted in him producing much
better music than he has ever created while going it alone (or with
Michael Jackson). I don't know how much Denny actually influenced
Paul's songwriting during the time they worked together, but I have to
think that Paul's arrangements benefited by working within the
framework of a band. Likewise, George's work with the Wilburys.

Ya know, this reminds me of the time my 10th grade Social Studies
teacher (Mr. Gatto) gave out homemade certificates to his students,
indicating that they had "graduated" from his class. After getting
mine, I, "Mr. So Much Smarter Than Thou" just had to point out to Mr.
Gatto that he made a grammar error when he wrote, "By the authority
vested in me..." I told him that it should have said, "By the
authority invested in me..." WRONG...
My Biggest English Language Pet Peeve: people who say, "I felt badly
for him." What happened, did you lose your sense of touch?
