I thought RUN DEVIL RUN was a great album and anything but "fragile, bitter,
old and lonely". Then again it can't be counted among the collections
reflecting his songwriter persona.

CC say: You're right, though the album did include two then-new McCartney
tunes, each of which fit right in with the crackling, triumphant vibe of that
too-often overlooked record. It may seem faint praise to select a (nearly)
all-covers effort as one of my favorite Macca albums, but it was simply
terrific.

The new one? I've only given it one listen so far, and find it
resolutely...okay. That puts it above both Chaos And Creation and Driving Rain in my
book, but below Run Devil Run and Flaming Pie. That might change after
subsequent spins (if I give it subsequent spins).

(And sorry for the two botched previous replies. Razafrazzin'
computers....)
