I'm so tired of reading sh%t like this from people who should know
better, like Paul McCartney -- here's a few quotes pulled from the
L.A. Times feature (link below):

"I was bored with the old record company's jaded view,"

"They're very confused, and they will admit it themselves: that this
is a new world, and they're a little bit at a loss as to what to do.
So they've got millions of dollars and X budget . for them to come up
with boring ways - because they've been at it for so long - to what
they call 'market' it. And I find that all a bit disturbing.

"I write it, I play it, I record it, and that's all fun. And you go to
the record company, and it gets very boring. You sit around in rooms
with people, and you're almost falling asleep"

"My record producer [David Kahne] said the major record labels these
days are like dinosaurs sitting around discussing the asteroid. They
know it's going to hit. They don't know when, they don't know where
it's coming from. But it's sort of hit already. With iTunes, and all
of that."

**** The truth is, he went with a new company who offered more money.

I know this for a fact, and It just so happened, that the company he went
with has retail stores where people actually shop on a regular basis,
for COFFEE. So he's giving it a try. And that company is tied in with
another record company, Concord, who are doing things exactly like
all record companies do, and distributing the CD to stores exactly
like all of record companies do, only they're using the biggest record
company's distribution co. (Universal Music) to do it. There are a great
many other things I could say about it, but I can't put it in a public forum.

Lemme just say this, I'm kinda bummed McCartney's being this way...
Instead of being a shrewd businessman, he's kind of acting like a tool...

P.S. And Elvis Costello is a tool too! FCC those guys -- it's all about the
money. Trust me, I know. There are so many music people now, whose
music I've once dug quite a bit, that are selling out and going for more
money and trying to pass it off as a shrewd business move, and they
think they're making smart moves but they're alienating their longtime
fans now, and making enemies along the way too.
