I wish that was consistently true, but I can tell you that the big
2,000-person-capacity venue here in Norfolk - The NorVa
<http://www.thenorva.com> - regularly has tribute bands filling its
schedule. In fact, the current listings show that on June 15th, they've got
The Cured (Cure tribute) w/ Blasphemous Rumors (Depeche Mode tribute), and
on August 3rd, it's The Machine: The Pink Floyd Experience.
Of course, on August 10th, they've also got Dweezil Zappa playing the music
of Frank Zappa, but that may only count on a technicality...:-)
