From this post I did some searching & discovered that the Lolas issued
a 4th cd in 2006 called Doctor Apache in Japan. You can hear samples on
CDBaby <http://cdbaby.com/cd/lolas>. There's been no mention of it here,
which is surprising. I can't find anyone stocking it, not even Jermey @
Jam. Definately going to the top of my want list.
Believe it or not, the Shame Idols were a functioning band in 2006,
from when I last asked about the Lolas here last year. Via googling
then I found a website and a myspace page (now gone), with songs & a
list of shows played around Birmingham.
You might also check out Tim Boykin's band before the Shame Idols,
Carnival Season. I sent a copy of all their recordings to Jeremy long
ago in hopes he might reissue but that never happened. Google shows
that blog PowerPopCriminals has posted their LP on Rapidshare. There's
also a 12" EP and 1 or 2 45's.
Tim was also in a outfit called Barking Tribe who released a cd on Ryko
in 1991 called "Serpent Go Home" tho I've never heard it. Interestingly
the name came from a previous band in the early 80's with Carnival
Season bassist Brad Quinn, tho I think the leader of both incarnations
was a guy named Kerry Pate.

I think Tim remains a subscriber. Tim, if you read this please let us
know how we can buy Doctor Apache. Or you power-pop vendors out there.
