Today for some sick, twisted reason...I woke up with the theme song
to "Maude" in my head. My latest version of Hell.
I didn't like the show and I can't say that I care for the now
implanted image of a strong but sassy Bea Arthur in my head. I
certainly heard the theme song enough to hate it but I couldn't
recall the lyrics.
So, for some sick reason I looked them up and I'm burdoning...er,
sharing them with you...
(sung with hip urgency)
Lady Godiva was a freedom rider she didn't care if the whole world
looked.
Joan of Arc with the Lord to guide her she was a sister who really
cooked.
Isadora was the first bra burner and you're glad she showed up.
(Oh yeah) And when the country was falling apart Betsy Ross got it
all sewed up.
AND THEN THERE'S MAUDE!
AND THEN THERE'S MAUDE!
AND THEN THERE'S MAUDE!
AND THEN THERE'S MAUDE!
AND THEN AND THEN THERE'S MAUDE! THERE'S MAUDE!
And then there's that old compromisin', enterprisin', anything but
tranquilizin', RIGHT ON MAUDE!
