After enjoying their show at IPO Liverpool, I heard Farrah's upcoming
album "Cut Out And Keep" in it's entirety last night: for a band I've not
investigated much in the past, it really is a rather splendid effort.
While the tunes are invariably hooky and memorable, the subject matter is
more downbeat, the lyrical tone quite reflective at times.
Favourites on first hearing .... the bubblegum pop of "Dumb Dumb Ditty",
the slightly wistful "Awkward Situation" and the Mr-Blue-Sky bounce of "No
Reason Why".
Overall, it reminded me of a slightly more upbeat Fountains of Wayne, so
if you like them, check this one out.
