I'm sorry, at what point in the last 11 or so years that I've been on
Audities have I ever said:
"Speaking solely for myself, almost all popular, commercial,
consumer-directed music of the last ten years has been a joke, an
utter insult to the intellect of music lovers everywhere. I'd love to
be proven otherwise, but I'm confident that won't happen."
I'm the person who has on occasion taken stick for being an
unapologetic fan of folks like the Spice Girls and Justin Timberlake.
I'm the guy who's been watching American Idol religiously all season
and would be the first in line to buy an album by any of the three
finalists. (Seriously, I can't wait to hear a full album by Melinda
Doolittle.) Unlike you, I unapologetically LOVE pop music, and I
certainly don't consider myself morally superior to it, as you seem
to. Furthermore, my CD shelves are very much enriched by bands I
discovered through Audities, including several released by or through
folks here.
I would discuss the misplaced hubris of your other recent posts in
greater detail, but it seems like a simple "eat me" is sufficient:
like a good two and a half minute pop single, it's concise, direct and
does the job.
