CM1 - Just the concept alone is Hall of Fame worthy! (Another gem was that 
Python album with two sets of grooves on one side, so depending where you 
dropped the needle you might get a completely different "side 2" than 
before! Many a stoner is still trying to figure out how Satan took control 
of their turntable...)

Ditto on the Steve Martin comments, although in fairness he's a fairly 
visual comedian and something is lost with audio only. (Brian Regan is 
another - funny to listen too, funnier to see; where someone like Steven 
Wright is about as hilarious either way).

Fortunately a lot of classic comedy albums are being reissued (check 
laugh-dot-com for starters)...although if your faves are current and 
touring, much like a band, merch table purchases are a nice way to support 
them. The 80s boom came and went, but there are a ton of really funny people 
out there if you make the effort. (Hmmm...like pop bands...)
