My mate Bubba and I went along to catch Fountains of Wayne last night and a
fine time was had by all. 80 minutes of quality power pop and even some
audience participation during "Hey Julie"! (Adam had gone shopping during
the day for some shakers and got 3 folk up to add percussion to the song).
I've only had the new album a few days but the live renditions of the new
stuff really rocked. Nice to hear them do Roddy Frame's "Killermont Street"
too.
Totally scurrilous aside: a couple of members of the band popped into local
club King Tut's before the gig hoping to score some "gack" (don't know if
that's how you spell it, but that's what they asked for) but to no avail.
They were quite cheery onstage so maybe they made a connection elsewhere
after all...
