Sure, a musician and label honcho such as yourself is qualified to executive produce a CD that they were a patron of. I was one of the patrons of "In Real Life" but it would be presumptuous for me to substitute my taste for the band's. What am I going to tell their Grammy-winning producer, "It sounds trebly to me"? Should I have insisted that they do a Dave Clark Five cover? The patrons should executive produce their own albums, and not screw up ike's.
And Michael asks me about Elvis Perkins,

That's the beauty of eMusic, at less than $3 an album, you are encouraged to try new artists. Truth be told, I was a consultant at the 9/11 victim compensation fund, and I was the case manager of Elvis and Oz' request to be compensated for the loss of their mother who was on one of the planes that crashed into the trade center. I can't imagine their pain, and I bought the CD since the experience influenced his songs. I only listened to it once, but the arrangements are sparse, direct and unusual, and there is a marked Dylan influence. It's a grower, not an immediate hit. I think I will be really enjoying repeated listens, the lyrics are very literate.
See ya,
Sherman
